Curriculum and Assessment Coaching Couch

Our “Coaching Couch” provides a space for reflective dialogues, to support special school leaders working to develop a curriculum for learners with SEND, for the 21st Century. It represents an alternative to one-day training courses and offers participating schools the opportunity to engage in meaningful collaboration over the course of a year.

Rather than adopt a “show and tell” model, The Coaching Couch involves professional mentoring (and coaching!). Participants work with Senior and Middle Leaders from Swiss Cottage School, on curriculum development. Schools that sign up to our ‘Coaching Couch’ gain access to:

  • Three places on one of our “Coaching Couch” days, at Swiss Cottage School, Development and Research Centre. To maximise the usefulness of the “Coaching Couch” and its capacity to support change, the number of schools able to participate in each “Coaching Couch” day will be four. Additional alternative dates will be offered to groups of schools making a bespoke arrangement.
  • A follow-up optional two hour Mentoring-Coaching visit to your school, from a Specialist Leader of Education with curriculum development expertise, based at Swiss Cottage Teaching Schools Alliance.
  • Access to materials, insights and updates through a termly e-newsletter, and copies of presentations.
